American Pie Star Tara Reid Says She Was Drugged at Chicago Hotel Bar, Hospitalized in Disturbing Incident

 

Tara Reid, the American Pie and Sharknado actress, claims she was drugged at a Chicago hotel bar and later taken to a hospital, a startling incident she says left her incapacitated and frightened.

According to TMZ, Reid told them she checked into a Chicago-area hotel late Saturday night. She went to the bar, ordered a drink, then stepped outside to smoke a cigarette. When she returned, she noticed a napkin covering her glass — something she insists she didn’t place there herself. After removing it and taking a sip, she says she has no memory of the next several hours, waking up only after she had been hospitalized. 

Video footage obtained by TMZ shows Reid being helped into a wheelchair in the hotel lobby. Witnesses say she appeared disoriented, slurred her words, and at one point cried out, “You don’t know who I am — I am famous, I am an actress.”  Paramedics then placed her on a stretcher and transported her to a nearby hospital. 

On “TMZ Live,” Reid said medical personnel told her that she had likely been drugged, though she didn’t press for specifics on what substance may have been used.  She also said that she only consumed one drink that night — despite her past struggles with substance abuse.

In her retelling, Reid recalled meeting a group of YouTubers in the hotel’s lobby while going outside to smoke. One of them apparently joined her, but when she returned to the bar, her drink seemed tampered with. She has suggested that someone covered her glass with the napkin while she was gone. 

Once she woke up in the hospital, she said, she was told she had been drugged — although Reid characterized the hospital’s explanation as “vague” and admitted she didn’t ask for details about the substance involved.
